So I thought it would be appropriate to start off with this card.
I have started with just an early sketch that i rendered a little bit. This image represents the basic themes/symbols found within The Fool card of the Rider Waite deck.
Basic Tarot Symbols
The fool in colorful motley clothes, pack tied to a staff, a small dog, a cliff.
The fool is a card that represents beginings and as the link says with a ''bark of warning''. The world is your oyster with infinate possibilities... but watch your step!
I have been biased with this card, and it was very much for me as it features my fursona. Therefore representing the whole ''high aspirations''.
This is just a rough idea of what I want it to look like. but I feel I should pay more attention to the negative spaces around the character, as these are just as important in a reverse card meaning as well as just making the image look prettier :3
Colour wise I might even make the trousers some stripey bell-bottom type thing, however typically the background will be the traditional yellows like the breaking of a new dawn, this should work well as my character is also golden/orange.
Any feedback is welcome and encouraged!!

Hey there everyone!
I hope all is well.
In this blog I hope to document the enormouse task I have set for myself.
Here I shall be posting any of my sketch work and development ideas for creating a Anthromorphic themed Tarot deck.
I hope you guys can give me your feedback when necesary whether you are from the Anthro/Furry community or Tarot and Oracle readers yourselves.
The deck itself should consist of 78 cards, each depicting an oridinal traditional piece of artwork created by me.
I'm hoping to follow roughly the same translation for tarot as the Rider-Waite deck.
I personally have read tarots since I was about sixteen, taking a break from it all when I moved to Canada for the past couple of years.
I was introduced to Tarot and similar things by my mum who does readings far more regulary than I do.
Although I am treating this more as an art project, I will be seeking her advice and approval when it comes to the actual cards layout and meanings and whether they can be ready correctly and efficiently.
My background in the arts starts back from when I could pick up a pencil, but more officially once again when I was around 15/16 when I actually decided to choose art as a career choice. I have taken courses in fine art since then, getting my foundation year in art at Wimbledon College of Art in London, England. I am currently studying a 3 year programme called ''Illustration for Sequential Arts'' at a small private
college in Toronto, Canada
At the end of this very daunting task I am hoping to have a fully usable deck which is just as deep and meaningful as any other deck out there, as well as a collectable item for art enthusiasts.
I really hope I can continue and complete this task as I know it will be very rewarding in the end. Any support or interest I get will be greatly welcomed and recieved! I need you guys to help egg me on in this project.
I am planning to do the original art work on a 5''x7'' size format. This means that when images are scaled down to a smaller card size they will not loose detail and look busy, but will allow me to work freely otherwise. I may slightly increase this size as I see fit.
I would like to aim for 1 card a week, but I know whilst I am still at school this will be nearly impossible, so I would like to try and at least get one coloured card out per month for now, and see how the process picks up over the holiday and summer months.
This WILL be a very long process, I realise it will take roughly 2 years to complete, if not longer. But this is something I have contemplated doing for a long time, and I also love an art challenge from time to time. I realise that my art style may change over time, and I may even decided to go back and re-work older cards. But its a risk I am willing to take.
Please keep me inspired to finish this project guys! I look forward to hearing all your feedback when I start posting the sketch work.
